Software Engineer
Lead design, development, and enhancement of Hogan IDS, a regulated mainframe deposit system, driving performance, reliability, and audit‑ready solutions using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and batch processing expertise.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and develop high‑availability batch and online components for the Hogan IDS deposit system in a regulated mainframe environment.
- Own performance tuning, reliability improvements, and capacity planning to meet stringent uptime and audit requirements.
- Collaborate with product, operations, and risk teams to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.
- Lead moderately complex initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to large‑scale strategy planning.
- Write, test, debug, and document code, ensuring compliance with security and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Extensive experience with COBOL, JCL, and DB2 on IBM mainframe platforms.
- Proven track record in batch processing, performance tuning, and system integration.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills in a regulated banking context.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities across cross‑functional teams.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
