Job Description
We have an exciting remote opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer at UL Research Institutes.
The Senior Software Engineer builds, tests, and maintains infrastructure and tools so that software can be developed and released for the Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI). The Senior Software Engineer is a key contributor on project teams to define specifications for complex software programming applications and modifies existing applications. Supports leadership in the analysis of software and hardware system needs, options, risks, costs and impact on processes and goals that advances the mission of the institute.

As the Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL as you:
Design and implement CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure provisioning (Infrastructure as Code), and operational tasks.
Build scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant cloud-based systems
Key contributor on project teams and defines specifications for complex software programming applications and modifies existing applications.
Implement logging, monitoring, and incident response to resolve issues quickly.
Improve software performance by investigating problems, developing specifications, identifying trends in technology, and recommending, integrating, and documenting solutions.
