Senior Software Engineer Data Platform - Zus Health

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain scalable backend services in Go for ingesting, processing, and storing large volumes of healthcare data.
• Design and implement end‑to‑end data pipelines on AWS, leveraging services such as S3, Kinesis, EMR, and Lambda to support real‑time and batch analytics.
• Establish DataOps best practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, and observability to ensure data quality and platform reliability.
• Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and compliance teams to translate clinical requirements into robust, secure data solutions.
• Optimize performance and cost of big‑data workloads, applying techniques such as partitioning, indexing, and serverless architectures.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with deep expertise in Go (Golang) for backend services.
• Strong hands‑on experience building and operating data platforms on AWS, including S3, EMR, Kinesis, Lambda, and related services.
• Proven track record designing big‑data pipelines and implementing DataOps practices (CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, and logging).
• Solid understanding of healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) and regulatory considerations such as HIPAA.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills, ability to work cross‑functionally, and a passion for delivering high‑quality, reliable data solutions.
