Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the technical vision for Hydro, a Rust‑based framework that embeds distributed safety into the type system.
• Build and scale a high‑performing engineering organization, hiring, mentoring, and developing senior talent.
• Drive the design and delivery of AI‑enhanced tooling that assists engineers in building correct, performant distributed systems.
• Collaborate with research partners (e.g., UC Berkeley) and internal AWS teams to align product roadmaps and ensure seamless integration with cloud services.
• Set multi‑year strategy, prioritize features, and ship production‑grade software that transforms how distributed systems are built.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong background in Rust and systems programming.
• Proven track record leading large, complex engineering teams delivering distributed, cloud‑native solutions.
• Deep understanding of type safety, compiler technology, and AI/ML techniques applied to developer tooling.
• Experience designing and operating high‑scale, performance‑critical services on cloud platforms.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across multiple organizations.
