Security Engineer
Lead the design, implementation, and operation of a comprehensive security platform—including identity, endpoints, detection, automation, and compliance—in a high‑ownership, defence‑tech environment.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and build a greenfield security platform covering identity, endpoint protection, threat detection, automation, and regulatory compliance.
- Define security standards, policies, and best‑practice frameworks that become the baseline for the entire engineering organization.
- Develop automated workflows and tooling (e.g., IaC, CI/CD pipelines) to enforce compliance requirements and reduce manual effort.
- Integrate and manage identity and access management solutions, ensuring least‑privilege access across cloud and on‑premise resources.
- Implement and tune endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions, creating actionable alerts and incident response playbooks.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to embed security controls early in the development lifecycle.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands‑on security engineering experience, preferably in a high‑growth, mission‑critical environment.
- Deep expertise in identity and access management, endpoint security, and security automation frameworks.
- Proficiency with scripting/programming languages such as Python and experience automating security controls in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex compliance mandates (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR) into automated, auditable engineering solutions.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, with a track record of building scalable security solutions from scratch.
