About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Ruby on Rails applications serving federal and state agencies.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate requirements into clean, well‑tested code.
- Implement and consume RESTful APIs, ensuring secure data exchange and high performance.
- Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests using test‑driven development methodologies.
- Deploy and monitor services on AWS, optimizing for cost, reliability, and security.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to code‑review processes to uphold engineering standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails and modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL or comparable relational databases.
- Hands‑on experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Demonstrated ability to write automated tests (RSpec, Minitest, Jest, etc.) and follow TDD practices.
