Devops Engineer
Lead the design, implementation, and operation of a secure Trusted Research Environment, leveraging cloud-native technologies, automation, and strong security practices to support high‑impact health data research.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain a secure Trusted Research Environment for handling sensitive health and population data.
- Develop and manage infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and automation tools such as Ansible.
- Deploy, monitor, and optimise containerised workloads on Kubernetes clusters across cloud platforms.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and enforce security best practices, including identity management, encryption, and audit logging.
- Collaborate with researchers, data stewards, and IT teams to translate scientific requirements into robust, scalable infrastructure solutions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Linux system administration and cloud infrastructure engineering.
- Proficiency with Kubernetes, Terraform, and scripting in Python or similar languages.
- Strong understanding of security frameworks, data protection regulations, and best practices for handling sensitive health data.
- Experience designing CI/CD pipelines and implementing automated testing and deployment workflows.
- Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills, with a track record of supporting interdisciplinary research teams.
