Senior Research Engineer - Advanced Engineering - Magna International, Inc

Key Responsibilities

• Lead research projects that develop next‑generation automotive systems, focusing on data analytics, machine learning models, and high‑fidelity simulations.
• Design, implement, and validate algorithms in Python, C++, and MATLAB to solve complex engineering challenges.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including hardware, software, and validation groups—to integrate research outcomes into production‑ready solutions.
• Publish technical findings, present results to internal stakeholders, and contribute to patents or technical papers.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide best practices for data handling, model development, and code quality.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with a strong research focus.
• 5+ years of experience developing machine‑learning or data‑analysis solutions for automotive or related high‑performance domains.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, and MATLAB, with hands‑on experience in simulation tools and model‑based design.
• Demonstrated ability to translate research concepts into practical, scalable engineering solutions.
• Strong communication skills and a track record of publishing or presenting technical work.
