Hardware Engineer
Design and implement digital control infrastructure for cryogenic quantum hardware, leveraging FPGA, DSP, and software engineering to enable high‑fidelity quantum operations.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and validate digital control pipelines for cryogenic quantum processors, including timing, waveform synthesis, and feedback loops.
- Design and program FPGA‑based hardware accelerators to meet low‑latency, high‑precision control requirements.
- Integrate software stacks (Python/C++) with hardware to provide scalable, automated experiment control and data acquisition.
- Collaborate with quantum hardware, cryogenics, and AI teams to optimize control algorithms for error mitigation and performance.
- Develop test frameworks, simulation models, and documentation to ensure reproducibility and maintainability of control systems.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or Master’s in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of experience in quantum hardware or high‑performance digital control.
- Proficiency in FPGA design (VHDL/Verilog) and digital signal processing techniques.
- Strong software development skills in Python and C/C++ for instrument control and data processing.
- Hands‑on experience with cryogenic environments and low‑temperature electronics.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross‑functionally in fast‑paced research and development settings.
