Systems Engineer
Lead advanced protection and controls for transmission operations, designing relay schemes, coordinating SCADA and PLC systems, and ensuring system reliability through fault analysis and stability assessments.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain protection schemes for high‑voltage transmission assets, ensuring compliance with industry standards and reliability objectives.
- Coordinate relay settings, SCADA integration, and PLC logic to support real‑time system monitoring and automated control.
- Conduct fault studies, relay coordination, and stability analyses to optimize system performance and mitigate outage risks.
- Collaborate with operations, planning, and maintenance teams to troubleshoot incidents, develop corrective actions, and update documentation.
- Lead technical reviews, provide mentorship to junior engineers, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in protection and controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in power system protection, relay coordination, and transmission operations.
- Proficiency with SCADA, PLC programming, and industry protection equipment (GE, Siemens, SEL).
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in fault analysis and stability studies.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management abilities.
