Position Overview
Our client in the biotechnology space is seeking a Senior Product Manager, Agentic AI who will lead the strategy, design, and execution of autonomous and semi-autonomous AI agents within a regulated healthcare environment. This role focuses on transforming manual workflows into AI-orchestrated systems that improve efficiency and quality while adhering to strict clinical safety and compliance guardrails. This is a contract role with a hybrid on-site requirement out of San Francisco. Candidate will be required to be on-site 2-3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and communicate a clear product vision and strategy for Agentic AI offerings in regulated healthcare, aligning stakeholders across business, clinical, compliance, and engineering teams.
- Develop and maintain a prioritized roadmap that balances user value, regulatory requirements, technical risk, and business objectives.
- Lead cross-functional teams to design, build, and ship features that integrate LLM capabilities with HIL safeguards, ensuring safety, transparency, and auditability.
- Drive requirements gathering and product discovery with clinicians, care teams, compliance officers, and customers to understand workflow pain points and opportunities for workflow transformation.
- Design and validate human-in-the-loop (HIL) interactions, escalation policies, and fail-safe mechanisms to ensure clinical safety and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with legal, privacy, and regulatory teams to translate requirements into product controls, documentation, and evidence for audits and submissions.
- Define success metrics, run experiments, and use quantitative and qualitative data to iterate on product features and adoption strategies.
- Own go-to-market readiness for new capabilities including pricing input, sales enablement materials, and customer onboarding plans tailored for regulated healthcare organizations.
- Serve as the product expert and evangelist internally and externally, representing the product in customer conversations, conferences, and with key partners.
- Mentor junior product managers and contribute to building best practices for product development in agentic AI and regulated healthcare domains.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of product management experience with a track record of shipping complex, enterprise-grade products; 3+ years working on AI/ML or LLM-powered products strongly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of Agentic AI concepts and practical experience or strong familiarity with building agentic workflows, orchestration, and safety controls.
- Experience in regulated healthcare settings (e.g., hospitals, digital health, medical devices, clinical workflows) with an understanding of relevant compliance and regulatory considerations (HIPAA, QMS, FDA pathways, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience designing Human-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems, safety escalations, and audit trails for high-stakes workflows.
- Strong product strategy skills: market assessment, competitive analysis, roadmap prioritization, and go-to-market planning for enterprise customers.
- Technical fluency with LLM capabilities, limitations, evaluation metrics, and methods to mitigate hallucinations and failure modes.
- Proven ability to engage with clinicians, engineers, designers, and regulators to translate complex requirements into pragmatic product solutions.
- Data-driven decision-making skills, comfortable defining success metrics, designing experiments, and interpreting quantitative and qualitative feedback.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience presenting to executives, regulatory bodies, and customers.
- Bachelors degree in CS, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
