About the Role
MoneySmart Group is South East Asia’s leading personal financial portal, evolving into an AI-native financial companion for millions of users across Singapore and Hong Kong. Our design team is small, close-knit, and deeply embedded in product evolution, empowering designers to own and solve problems.
We are seeking a Senior Product Designer who is energised by complex challenges and curious about the impact of AI on design. This role involves taking ambiguous, open-ended problems from conception to delivery, making sense of intricate details, and creating genuinely resonant experiences.
You will join a design team operating across dedicated squads, each with its own Product Manager and engineering effort. Design influence spans our comparison platform, financial advisory products, discovery, and experience optimisation across Singapore and Hong Kong.
We are building an AI-native design practice, where designers leverage AI for discovery, concept generation, prototyping, research synthesis, and to translate ideas into code. We invest significantly in the ecosystem, tools, training, and support to enable this.
Responsibilities
- Own problems end to end, from fuzzy brief to shipped experience, across comparison, financial advisory, and discovery surfaces.
- Do the research, make the call. Synthesise user insights into clear problem statements and actionable design decisions for the team.
- Deliver the craft. Create thoughtful, high-quality UI that is precise and technically feasible.
- Bring a strong design point of view to the table and advocate for it, even when challenged.
- Float across squads, partner with PMs and engineers, and help shape design culture.
- Build with AI daily. Generate, critique, iterate, and refine, supported by the necessary tools and ecosystem.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in product design, with a portfolio showcasing end-to-end ownership across complex, user-facing products.
- Strong 0-to-1 instincts: comfortable initiating from a blank slate, shaping problem spaces, and making strategic design decisions with incomplete information.
- Ability to lead discussions, defend decisions, and align stakeholders independently.
- High craft standards for visual design and deep fluency in interaction design and user research.
Independence & Problem Solving
- Self-driven with a bias for action; you identify gaps, take initiative, and operate without needing step-by-step direction.
- A structured thinker who brings clarity to complex problems while maintaining a user-centric perspective.
- Comfortable challenging decisions upward and across, advocating for optimal solutions.
AI as a Design Practice
- You already integrate AI tools into your design workflow for UI generation, concept exploration, research synthesis, or accelerated prototyping. Please detail this in your application.
- Comfortable being evaluated on AI output; our interview process includes an AI-powered design challenge.
- You don't need to be an engineer or understand AI models deeply, but you must have a clear perspective on how AI is transforming design practice and be actively developing this skill.
What's in it for you
- Design holds a significant voice within the company, allowing you to shape thinking, challenge direction, and own outcomes.
- An AI-native environment from day one, with comprehensive investment in tools, training, infrastructure, and support to align your work with industry advancements.
- Autonomy to define your path, pursue exciting projects, and develop without micromanagement.
- Hybrid work setup and a culture that values productive work over excessive hours.
- Opportunity to impact hundreds of thousands of users across Singapore and Hong Kong, influencing real financial decisions.
