Senior Principal Systems Engineer leading technical and programmatic interchanges, issue resolution, and engineering guidance for a critical NRO prime program, leveraging deep systems engineering, requirements management, and integration expertise.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical and programmatic interchanges across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring alignment with mission objectives and schedule constraints.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve complex engineering issues, providing authoritative guidance as the Systems Engineer Technical Advisor (SETA).
- Develop and maintain comprehensive system architecture, requirements baselines, and verification/validation plans.
- Coordinate modeling and simulation activities to validate system performance and support trade‑off analyses.
- Interface with NRO stakeholders, contractors, and government customers to communicate technical status and risk mitigation strategies.
Requirements
- Minimum 15 years of progressive systems engineering experience, including senior‑level technical advisory roles on classified defense programs.
- Proven expertise in requirements management, system architecture development, and integration of hardware/software subsystems.
- Strong knowledge of DoD acquisition processes, security clearance requirements (TS/SCI with polygraph), and NRO program standards.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a track record of guiding cross‑functional teams through complex problem solving.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
