Lead the design, development, and integration of missile guidance, navigation, and control systems, leveraging C++, MATLAB/Simulink, and model‑based design to deliver high‑performance embedded solutions for defense applications.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and develop advanced guidance, navigation, and control algorithms for missile systems using C++ and MATLAB/Simulink.
- Lead model‑based design efforts, creating and validating simulation models, hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) tests, and real‑time embedded implementations.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate GNC software with avionics hardware, ensuring compliance with DoD security and safety standards.
- Provide technical mentorship to engineers, conduct design reviews, and drive continuous improvement of development processes.
- Manage technical risk, perform trade‑studies, and produce documentation for certification and sustainment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher in Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering with 12+ years of experience in missile GNC development.
- Proficiency in C++ and extensive hands‑on experience with MATLAB/Simulink for control algorithm design and simulation.
- Strong background in embedded software development, real‑time operating systems, and model‑based design methodologies.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD security clearance.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and leadership skills in a high‑stakes defense environment.
