Lead a high‑impact development team as a Senior Principal Systems Engineer, driving architecture, integration, and delivery of complex defense systems using C++, Java, Linux, Agile, and DevOps practices.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the technical architecture for large‑scale defense system projects, ensuring compliance with security and performance requirements.
- Lead a multidisciplinary development team through Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and continuous delivery pipelines.
- Design, develop, and integrate software components in C++ and Java on Linux platforms, collaborating with hardware and test engineers.
- Implement DevOps practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, and configuration management to accelerate delivery cycles.
- Mentor senior engineers, conduct technical reviews, and enforce best practices in systems engineering and software development.
Requirements
- Minimum 12 years of experience in systems engineering and software development for mission‑critical or defense applications.
- Expertise in C++, Java, and Linux development environments, with a strong grasp of object‑oriented design and real‑time constraints.
- Proven track record leading Agile teams and implementing DevOps pipelines in secure, regulated settings.
- Active or ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
