About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end safety lifecycle activities for high‑integrity aerospace systems, ensuring compliance with DoD and industry safety standards.
- Conduct advanced safety analysis, risk assessment, and hazard identification, producing robust safety cases and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to integrate safety requirements into design, development, and testing processes.
- Develop and maintain safety verification and validation plans, executing tests and reviews to validate safety performance.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior safety engineers, fostering a culture of safety excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in system safety engineering within aerospace or defense environments.
- Deep knowledge of safety standards (e.g., DO-178C, DO-254, ISO 26262) and safety lifecycle processes.
- Proven ability to produce safety cases, risk assessments, and safety verification plans.
- Strong communication skills and experience leading safety reviews and cross‑functional teams.
