Security Engineer
Senior Cyber Security Engineer responsible for leading information system security engineering, integrating security into system designs, and ensuring compliance with DoD RMF and STIG standards for critical defense programs.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead information system security engineering activities, translating mission requirements into secure system architectures.
- Develop, review, and maintain security documentation, including SSPs, POAs&M, and security plans, in accordance with DoD RMF.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and risk analyses using tools such as ACAS and STIG compliance checks.
- Collaborate with program offices, system engineers, and stakeholders to embed security controls throughout the system development lifecycle.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior security staff and ensure continuous improvement of security processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or related field with 10+ years of cyber security experience.
- Deep knowledge of DoD Risk Management Framework, STIGs, and security control implementation.
- Hands‑on experience with vulnerability assessment tools (e.g., ACAS) and security architecture design.
- Active DoD Secret clearance (or ability to obtain) and eligibility for travel up to 20%.
- Strong communication skills to produce clear security documentation and interact with government stakeholders.
