About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement advanced operations research models, including linear programming, stochastic optimization, and simulation, to support federal, state, and local initiatives.
- Develop and deploy machine‑learning pipelines and predictive analytics solutions that inform policy decisions and improve service delivery.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate client requirements into data‑driven strategies, delivering actionable insights and recommendations.
- Lead data collection, cleaning, and analysis using Python, R, and SQL, ensuring high data quality and reproducibility.
- Prepare technical reports, visualizations, and presentations for senior stakeholders, communicating complex findings in clear, business‑focused language.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- 5+ years of professional experience building optimization, simulation, or machine‑learning models for public‑sector or consulting projects.
- Proficiency in Python and R, with hands‑on experience in libraries such as NumPy, pandas, Pyomo, SimPy, caret, or scikit‑learn.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into strategic recommendations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities, capable of presenting technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
