Senior Engineer leading design, analysis and delivery of Overhead Catenary Systems for rail electrification projects, applying power systems expertise, railway engineering standards, and advanced CAD tools to ensure safe, reliable, low‑carbon rail infrastructure.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and engineering of Overhead Catenary Systems (OCS) for new and upgraded rail corridors, ensuring compliance with national and industry standards.
- Perform electrical load calculations, short‑circuit analysis, and grounding studies using power system software to validate system performance and safety.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams—including civil, structural, signalling and control—to integrate OCS solutions within overall rail project scopes.
- Develop detailed construction drawings, specifications, and tender documentation using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and review contractor submissions for technical accuracy.
- Provide technical oversight during construction, commissioning and testing phases, troubleshooting issues and delivering performance assurance reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Railway or Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of experience in rail electrification or OCS projects.
- Proven expertise in power systems analysis, OCS design standards (e.g., EN 50122, AREMA), and relevant CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of railway operations, safety regulations, and asset lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi‑disciplinary projects and communicate technical concepts to clients and stakeholders.
- Professional engineering licensure or equivalent certification preferred.
