About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of software engineers working on large‑scale government systems.
- Design, develop, and optimise Objectstar applications using Java and SQL, ensuring performance, scalability and security.
- Lead migration and integration projects, moving legacy functionality to Azure‑based microservice architectures.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Implement and champion Agile best practices, continuous integration and automated testing across the development lifecycle.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on Java and Objectstar platforms.
- Proven experience delivering complex migration projects and building microservices on Azure.
- Deep knowledge of relational databases and SQL optimisation techniques.
- Hands‑on experience with Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
- Australian citizenship and ability to work on government contracts.
