Security Engineer
Senior Network Security Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network security controls across a complex healthcare environment, leveraging firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, SIEM, and cloud security solutions to protect patient data and ensure HIPAA compliance.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage enterprise‑grade firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPN solutions to safeguard network perimeter and remote access.
- Configure and maintain SIEM platforms, develop correlation rules, and conduct real‑time threat monitoring and incident response.
- Lead vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and remediation efforts across on‑prem and cloud infrastructures.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and other healthcare regulations through policy development, audit preparation, and security controls documentation.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate security into new application deployments and infrastructure changes.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in network security engineering within a healthcare or regulated industry.
- Proficiency with Cisco/Juniper firewalls, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and cloud security services (AWS, Azure).
- Hands‑on experience with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight) and incident response frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and related compliance standards.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
