Senior Mission Engineer responsible for designing, integrating, and validating complex mission systems for government programs, leveraging Python, C++, and DoD engineering standards while maintaining required security clearance.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end‑to‑end development of mission‑critical system architectures, ensuring compliance with DoD standards and security requirements.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define mission objectives, translate requirements into technical specifications, and produce detailed design documentation.
- Develop and execute integration, test, and validation plans using Python and C++ to verify system performance and reliability.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering best practices in systems engineering and mission planning.
- Maintain continuous liaison with government stakeholders, presenting progress, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of experience in systems engineering and mission planning for defense or aerospace programs.
- Proficiency in Python and C++ for simulation, modeling, and test automation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of DoD acquisition processes, security protocols, and relevant engineering standards.
- Active security clearance (Secret or higher) at the time of hire.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills with a proven ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
