About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain short‑ and mid‑term mine plans, ensuring alignment with production targets and regulatory requirements.
- Lead scheduling activities, coordinating with drilling, blasting, loading, and haulage teams to optimize throughput.
- Oversee safety and environmental compliance, implementing best practices for hazard mitigation and rehabilitation.
- Collaborate with project management to deliver cost‑effective solutions and support capital investment decisions.
- Utilize mining software (e.g., Surpac, Datamine) to model resources, assess feasibility, and report performance metrics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive surface mining experience, including planning and scheduling.
- Proficiency in mining software and strong analytical skills.
- Demonstrated leadership in safety‑first culture and environmental stewardship.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
