About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design and analysis for nuclear components, ensuring compliance with CANDU and regulatory standards.
- Develop and maintain detailed CAD models and FEA simulations to validate structural integrity and performance.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems into overall plant design.
- Oversee design reviews, risk assessments, and change control processes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in nuclear mechanical design, with proven expertise in CANDU technology.
- Proficiency in CAD (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus).
- Strong project management skills and experience leading cross‑functional teams.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and documentation abilities.
