About the National AI Office (NAIO)
The National AI Office (NAIO) is responsible for implementing the National AI Strategy (NAIS) to drive Singapore's national agenda for Artificial Intelligence (AI). Additionally, NAIO facilitates and drives collaborations with industry and R&D players to build digital capabilities, including AI, within the Singapore Public Service.
About the Role
As Manager/Senior Manager/Assistant Director (Strategy & Industry), you will lead a small team to contribute to building a Smart Nation and transforming Singapore through technology. This role reports to a Deputy Director and may include supervisory responsibilities. You will be part of a dynamic team operating in a fast-moving environment, with the opportunity to shape the direction of Government partnerships with industry to build long-term digital capabilities for Singapore.
Responsibilities
- Develop and iteratively refine SNDGO’s industry engagement strategy, and establish mechanisms and resources to support industry collaborations.
- Build strong relationships with key industry partners to provide solutions that meet government digitalization needs.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for public-private collaborations, particularly to advance Singapore’s national AI agenda and National AI Programmes.
- Understand the mutual interests of companies and SNDGO/GovTech, and address concerns and trade-offs to strengthen relationships.
- Anchor digital tech activities in Singapore and build local capabilities and talent to contribute to Smart Nation efforts. This involves identifying and securing partnerships with key industry players (local and overseas) to co-create new impactful solutions or testbed cutting-edge industry solutions.
- Collaborate with agencies and industry partners to strengthen ecosystem enablers for Singapore, such as building local AI talent and facilitating data exchange.
- Support SNDGO Management and Political Office Holders for industry visits and events, and maintain a repository of industry engagements.
- Initiate and implement National AI Programmes/Projects in an area of interest within the National AI Office.
Work Experience & Competencies
- At least 5 years of working experience in conceptualising, structuring, and implementing technology partnerships.
- Familiarity with emerging technology and capabilities.
- Ability to act as a savvy technology user/technology translator, capable of communicating credibly with both technical experts (e.g., engineers) and business leaders.
- Experience working in the private sector or in engaging private sector companies.
- Experience or interest in planning and execution of stakeholder engagement activities and facilitating conversations.
