Software Engineer
Lead a multidisciplinary team to design, develop, and certify safety‑critical embedded software for portable nuclear microreactors, using C/C++, real‑time operating systems, FPGA hardware, and rigorous safety standards.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and mentor a team of embedded engineers in the development of firmware and software for nuclear microreactor control systems.
- Architect and implement real‑time, safety‑critical code in Embedded C/C++ on Linux and RTOS platforms such as VxWorks.
- Define and enforce compliance with safety standards (DO‑178C, IEC 61508) and manage certification activities.
- Collaborate with hardware groups to integrate FPGA designs, sensor interfaces, and power‑management modules.
- Drive Agile processes, sprint planning, and continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines for embedded releases.
- Provide technical risk assessments, performance analysis, and documentation for regulatory review.
Requirements
- 10+ years of embedded systems experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership or senior management role.
- Proficiency in Embedded C and C++ development for safety‑critical, real‑time applications.
- Hands‑on experience with RTOS (e.g., VxWorks, QNX) and Linux‑based embedded platforms.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safety standards such as DO‑178C, IEC 61508, and experience leading certification efforts.
- Strong background in FPGA integration, hardware‑software co‑design, and Agile development methodologies.
