Lead a data science team that builds optimization and machine‑learning models to plan and execute millions of vehicle moves across a national logistics network, leveraging Python, SQL, and cloud services.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the roadmap for logistics modeling, including vehicle routing, load planning, and carrier selection.
- Lead a team of data scientists and engineers to develop, validate, and productionize machine‑learning and optimization algorithms.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and third‑party logistics partners to integrate model outputs into daily execution systems.
- Design and maintain scalable data pipelines and cloud infrastructure (AWS) for large‑scale simulation and real‑time decision making.
- Monitor model performance, conduct root‑cause analysis, and iterate to improve accuracy and cost efficiency.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience building large‑scale optimization or machine‑learning solutions for logistics or supply chain domains.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and statistical modeling libraries (e.g., pandas, scikit‑learn, PyTorch, Gurobi/CPLEX).
- Strong background in operations research, routing, or network flow algorithms.
- Experience designing cloud‑native data pipelines and deploying models on AWS (SageMaker, EMR, Lambda).
- Demonstrated leadership ability to mentor technical talent and influence cross‑functional stakeholders.
