As a Senior Manager, Analytics Engineering, you'll join the team that provides a foundation for analytics at Epic. We build and maintain data platforms, pipelines, and tools that enable data-driven decision-making across the company. What You'll Do
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, Analytics Engineering to lead a team of talented analytics engineers. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of our data warehousing and analytics infrastructure. You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other engineering teams to ensure that our data is accurate, accessible, and optimized for analysis.
In this role, you will
- Lead and mentor a team of analytics engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Define and implement best practices for data warehousing, data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data quality.
- Architect and evolve scalable and performant data solutions that meet the evolving needs of the business.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Epic to understand their data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of data pipelines, ensuring data integrity and timely delivery.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance our data platform capabilities.
- Drive initiatives to improve data governance, security, and compliance.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables, ensuring successful execution of analytics engineering initiatives.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering roles, with a strong focus on data warehousing and ETL/ELT development.
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership or management role, leading teams of data/analytics engineers.
- Expertise in SQL and experience with at least one major cloud data platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Scala.
- Strong understanding of data modeling techniques (e.g., dimensional modeling, data vault).
- Experience with data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow) and data transformation tools (e.g., dbt).
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Looker, Power BI, Tableau).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
