About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design end‑to‑end infrastructure architectures for telecom applications that rely on IMS and IDMS databases, ensuring high performance and predictable response times.
- Develop and implement comprehensive database strategies for mainframe DB2 environments, covering capacity planning, backup/recovery, and security hardening.
- Lead the migration, integration, and optimization of legacy mainframe applications to hybrid cloud‑enabled platforms while maintaining service continuity.
- Collaborate with telecom engineering teams to define service level objectives, performance tuning parameters, and disaster‑recovery procedures.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to DBA and infrastructure teams on best practices for mainframe and telecom workloads.
Requirements
- 12–14 years of experience in mainframe database administration, specifically with IMS, IDMS, and DB2.
- Proven expertise in designing resilient, secure, and scalable telecom infrastructure solutions.
- Strong knowledge of performance tuning, capacity planning, and high‑availability architectures for mission‑critical environments.
- Experience with hybrid cloud integration and modernizing legacy mainframe applications.
- Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
