Senior Localization Systems Engineer - Qualcomm
Systems Engineer
Senior engineer responsible for designing and implementing advanced vehicle localization algorithms across standard, high‑definition, and crowd‑sourced maps, leveraging Kalman filters, particle filters, and SLAM techniques.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement state‑of‑the‑art localization algorithms that estimate vehicle pose on various map types (SD, HD, crowd‑sourced).
- Develop and tune Kalman filter variants (EKF, UKF) and particle filter solutions for robust state estimation.
- Apply SLAM theory to integrate sensor data and map information for real‑time vehicle positioning.
- Collaborate with mapping, perception, and control teams to ensure seamless integration of localization modules.
- Validate algorithms through simulation and on‑vehicle testing, analyzing performance metrics and failure cases.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in vehicle localization, sensor fusion, or related fields.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and real‑time software development.
- Deep understanding of Kalman filters (EKF, UKF), particle filters, and SLAM methodologies.
- Experience working with high‑definition and crowd‑sourced map data.
- Proven ability to independently design, implement, and evaluate complex estimation algorithms.
