Systems Engineer
Lead the administration of Linux/UNIX environments, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across on‑prem and cloud platforms. Drive system migrations, optimize resources, and mentor junior staff while delivering robust support and proactive maintenance.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Linux/UNIX systems (RedHat, Solaris) across on‑prem and cloud environments, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Implement proactive system maintenance, including patching, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
- Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues, providing timely support to internal teams.
- Lead system migrations and upgrades, coordinating with cross‑functional stakeholders to minimize downtime.
- Develop and deliver training sessions for junior staff, fostering best practices in system administration and security.
- Collaborate with security teams to enforce hardening standards, audit compliance, and respond to incidents.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience managing Linux/UNIX systems, with deep knowledge of RedHat and Solaris platforms.
- Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python) and experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet).
- Hands‑on experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and mentoring abilities.
- Relevant certifications (RHCE, Solaris Certified Administrator, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator) preferred.
