Senior Linux Platform Engineer - Burlington Stores

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable Linux platform standards for RHEL and SUSE across corporate and distribution center environments.
• Lead automation initiatives using configuration management tools to enforce consistency, reduce manual effort, and accelerate deployments.
• Ensure platform reliability and uptime in a 24x7 retail environment, troubleshooting and resolving high‑impact incidents as a senior escalation point.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, application, database, and security teams to integrate platform services and enforce security best practices.
• Drive lifecycle management, including patching, upgrades, and decommissioning, while maintaining documentation and compliance records.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with Linux system administration, preferably in large‑scale RHEL and SUSE deployments.
• Proficiency in automation and configuration management (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Strong understanding of security hardening, compliance, and incident response in production environments.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, 24x7 operational context.
• Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration and technical documentation.
