About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Python‑based applications that calculate and monitor rates risk and P&L across multiple trading desks.
- Integrate data pipelines using AWS Athena and SQL to provide real‑time risk metrics and reporting.
- Collaborate with traders, risk analysts, and back‑office teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Lead code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and enforce best practices in Agile development cycles.
- Optimize performance of existing systems, ensuring low‑latency and high‑availability for critical risk‑management processes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in Python development, preferably within financial services.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and experience querying large datasets with AWS Athena or similar platforms.
- Demonstrated understanding of rates products, risk management concepts, and P&L attribution.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams, conduct code reviews, and drive Agile delivery practices.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to communicate complex technical ideas to non‑technical stakeholders.
