Data Engineer
Senior IT Data Engineer responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and API integrations, ensuring secure access control and leveraging Cassandra for high-performance data storage.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy robust API gateways to expose internal services securely.
- Integrate diverse data sources using RESTful and GraphQL APIs, ensuring data consistency and reliability.
- Implement fine-grained access control mechanisms, including OAuth, JWT, and role-based permissions.
- Architect and maintain large-scale Cassandra clusters, optimizing for performance and fault tolerance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver incremental improvements.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines and API performance using monitoring tools.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
- Proficient with API gateway solutions (e.g., Kong, Apigee, AWS API Gateway).
- Strong knowledge of Cassandra architecture, data modeling, and query optimization.
- Experience with authentication/authorization protocols (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect).
- Hands‑on experience with Agile development practices and CI/CD pipelines.
