Software Engineer
Lead the design, administration, and modernization of enterprise SQL Server environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security while integrating with Azure data services and the enterprise data lake.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Define and drive the enterprise database architecture and administration strategy.
- Administer and optimize SQL Server environments, including provisioning, patching, and high‑availability configuration.
- Implement robust backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery plans to guarantee data integrity.
- Lead performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning initiatives.
- Collaborate with data platform teams to integrate SQL Server workloads with Azure data services and the enterprise data lake.
- Establish and enforce database security, compliance, and governance policies.
Requirements
- 5+ years of senior database administration experience, primarily with SQL Server.
- Strong knowledge of Azure data services (Azure SQL, Synapse, Data Factory) and data lake architectures.
- Proven track record in performance tuning, high‑availability design, and disaster‑recovery implementation.
- Experience with database security, compliance frameworks, and governance best practices.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
