Devops Engineer
Senior Infrastructure Engineer driving secure, scalable cloud services on Azure, designing and managing critical infrastructure with IaC, scripting, and DevOps practices to support the Scottish Public Pensions Agency’s pension administration platform.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain Azure-based infrastructure for SPPA’s pension systems, ensuring high availability, scalability and security.
- Lead the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or ARM templates to automate provisioning and configuration.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts in Python and PowerShell to streamline operations, monitoring, and incident response.
- Collaborate with security, compliance and application teams to enforce best practices, perform vulnerability assessments, and implement remediation controls.
- Manage and optimize cloud costs, performance, and capacity planning across multi‑region deployments.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with a strong focus on Azure.
- Proven expertise in IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and container orchestration (Kubernetes preferred).
- Hands‑on scripting skills in Python and PowerShell, with experience automating complex workflows.
- Deep understanding of security principles, identity management, and compliance frameworks relevant to public sector data.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and external partners.
