About the role
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive information rights framework for international research projects, ensuring alignment with GDPR, IP law, and UKRI policies.
Lead cross‑functional teams to assess, classify, and manage data and intellectual property throughout the research lifecycle.
Advise senior leadership and external partners on rights management, licensing, and data sharing agreements.
Monitor regulatory changes, conduct risk assessments, and update policies to maintain compliance and best practice.
Deliver training and support to researchers, ensuring awareness of rights obligations and data protection requirements.
Requirements
Extensive experience in information rights, data governance, or IP management within a research or academic environment.
Deep knowledge of GDPR, UKRI data policies, and international IP frameworks.
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Proven ability to lead complex projects and influence policy at senior levels.
Fluency in English, with additional language skills a plus.
