About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and analysis of underground and open‑pit mine workings, applying rock mechanics principles and industry best practices.
- Develop and maintain 3D geological and geotechnical models, integrating drilling, logging, and seismic data.
- Collaborate with mining, environmental, and safety teams to ensure designs meet regulatory and company safety standards.
- Conduct risk assessments, slope stability analyses, and support decision‑making for mine expansion and rehabilitation projects.
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate multidisciplinary technical reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geotechnical, Mining, or Civil Engineering.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in mine design and geotechnical engineering.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., Surpac, Leapfrog) and GIS tools.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in rock mechanics software (e.g., PLAXIS, FLAC).
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management abilities.
