Senior GCP Data Engineer leading cloud database strategy and architecture, building scalable data pipelines and AI‑ready solutions on Google Cloud Platform using BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub and Python.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement the strategic roadmap for cloud databases and data platforms on Google Cloud Platform.
- Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and BigQuery.
- Establish standardized “golden paths” for data ingestion, transformation, storage, and AI integration.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into robust data models and architectures.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices for security, performance, and cost efficiency.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or cloud database engineering, with deep expertise in GCP services.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data manipulation and pipeline development.
- Hands‑on experience designing and managing BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to create architectural standards, governance, and automation for data platforms.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to lead technical discussions with stakeholders.
