Senior engineer to lead migration from Azure to Google Cloud, design and automate scalable infrastructure, ensure security and reliability, and drive ongoing platform operations using GCP, Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and Python scripting.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end‑to‑end migration of workloads from Microsoft Azure to Google Cloud Platform, including lift‑and‑shift and re‑architecting services.
- Design, build, and maintain highly available, secure, and cost‑optimized GCP infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code best practices.
- Implement and manage containerized workloads with Kubernetes (GKE), including cluster provisioning, networking, and observability.
- Develop CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitLab) to automate deployment, testing, and release processes.
- Establish and enforce cloud security controls, identity and access management, and compliance monitoring.
- Collaborate with development and product teams to provide guidance on cloud‑native architecture, performance tuning, and cost management.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional experience in cloud or platform engineering, with at least 5 years focused on Google Cloud Platform.
- Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure automation and strong hands‑on experience with Kubernetes (GKE) in production.
- Solid scripting/programming skills in Python (or similar) for automation and tooling.
- Deep understanding of cloud security, IAM, networking, and monitoring within GCP.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and implementing DevOps best practices.
