Embedded Systems Engineer
Senior Firmware Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and validating real‑time embedded software for safety‑critical medical devices using C/C++, Embedded Linux, and RTOS, while ensuring compliance with medical device safety standards.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain firmware for ICU patient monitors, transport monitors, and other medical devices using C/C++ and Embedded Linux.
- Develop real‑time, safety‑critical code on RTOS platforms, ensuring deterministic behavior and low latency.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and regulatory teams to meet IEC 62304, FDA, and ISO 14971 requirements.
- Perform rigorous unit, integration, and system testing, including hardware-in-the-loop and safety validation.
- Document design decisions, test plans, and compliance evidence for regulatory submissions.
Requirements
- 3–7+ years of firmware development experience in medical or safety‑critical embedded systems.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and experience with Embedded Linux and RTOS environments.
- Strong understanding of medical device safety standards (IEC 62304, ISO 14971) and regulatory processes.
- Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
