Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a distributed team of database engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and high‑quality delivery.
- Architect and evolve a high‑performance PostgreSQL platform that supports transactional, analytical, and agentic workloads at scale.
- Drive performance tuning, capacity planning, and reliability initiatives to ensure 99.99% uptime and sub‑millisecond latency for mission‑critical applications.
- Collaborate with product, data science, and infrastructure teams to define feature roadmaps, prioritize technical debt, and deliver measurable business value.
- Champion best practices in CI/CD, observability, and automated testing for database deployments across cloud environments.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in database engineering with deep expertise in PostgreSQL.
- Proven track record managing and scaling remote engineering teams in a distributed environment.
- Strong background in distributed systems, performance tuning, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for mentoring and building high‑performing teams.
