Senior engineer providing technical, analytical, and integration support for transmission assets, leveraging power systems expertise, GIS, and data‑driven tools such as Python and SQL to optimize merchant transmission portfolios.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain transmission planning models and analyses to support merchant energy supply strategies.
- Integrate asset data from GIS, SCADA, and other sources into a unified platform for performance monitoring and decision support.
- Perform reliability, capacity, and cost assessments for existing and proposed transmission infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including operations, finance, and regulatory—to align engineering solutions with business objectives.
- Automate data extraction, transformation, and reporting workflows using Python and SQL to improve efficiency and data quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field with 7+ years of experience in transmission engineering.
- Proficiency in power system analysis tools (e.g., PSS®E, PowerWorld) and GIS applications.
- Strong programming and data‑analysis skills, particularly in Python and SQL.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex asset integration projects and communicate technical findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Experience with regulatory frameworks and merchant transmission markets is preferred.
