About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, assessment, and implementation of tailings storage facilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company safety standards.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute tailings management plans, integrating geotechnical, hydraulic, and environmental data.
- Oversee construction, monitoring, and maintenance activities, providing technical guidance and troubleshooting to optimize performance.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and risk registers, reporting progress to senior management.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, including regulators and contractors, to secure permits and approvals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Civil, or Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive experience in tailings or mine waste management.
- Strong knowledge of tailings design, stability analysis, and environmental compliance.
- Proficiency in GIS, AutoCAD, and project management software.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
