Software Engineer

About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of natural‑resource infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with state policies and environmental standards.
- Supervise and mentor engineering associates within the PEM section, reviewing work products, providing technical guidance, and managing performance.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, overseeing waste‑water and waste‑solid management programs.
- Develop and maintain GIS datasets, maps, and spatial analyses to support resource planning and project decision‑making.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and construction documents using AutoCAD and related design software.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external agencies to secure permits, resolve compliance issues, and facilitate project approvals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or related engineering discipline; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in natural‑resources engineering, including project management and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency with GIS applications (e.g., ArcGIS) and AutoCAD for design and drafting.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations (e.g., Clean Water Act, State waste management statutes) and experience overseeing compliance programs.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, effective communication skills, and the capacity to supervise multidisciplinary engineering teams.
