About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the detailed design of mechanical systems for mining and minerals projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
- Develop and maintain CAD models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using advanced CAD software.
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) to validate structural integrity and optimize component performance.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (electrical, civil, process) to integrate mechanical solutions into overall project design.
- Prepare technical documentation, design reviews, and cost estimates for procurement and manufacturing.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in mechanical design for mining, minerals, or heavy industry.
- Proficiency in CAD (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus).
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and relevant industry standards.
- Excellent communication, project management, and problem‑solving skills.
