About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical design and execution of rehabilitation projects for hydroelectric power plants, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including civil, mechanical, and instrumentation engineers, to deliver integrated solutions.
- Develop and review electrical schematics, load calculations, and protection coordination studies using CAD and power system analysis tools.
- Oversee commissioning, testing, and performance verification of upgraded equipment and control systems.
- Provide expert guidance on asset management strategies, lifecycle cost analysis, and modernization initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in hydroelectric power plant design, operation, or rehabilitation.
- Proficiency with CAD, SCADA, and power system simulation software.
- Strong project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder communication.
- Knowledge of Canadian electrical codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
