Senior Embedded Systems Engineer driving the development of a tele‑operated robotic ultrasound platform, leveraging C/C++, embedded Linux, RTOS, ROS, and FPGA to deliver reliable, AI‑enabled medical imaging solutions.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and validate embedded firmware for the TORUS tele‑operated robotic ultrasound system.
- Integrate ROS nodes and real‑time control loops to enable precise robotic motion and imaging acquisition.
- Collaborate with hardware teams on PCB layout, FPGA logic, and sensor interfacing for high‑performance data pipelines.
- Implement safety and compliance features (IEC 62304, ISO 14971) to meet medical device regulatory standards.
- Optimize code for low‑latency, low‑power operation on ARM Cortex‑M and Cortex‑A platforms.
Requirements
- 5+ years of embedded systems engineering experience in medical or robotics domains.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and experience with embedded Linux and RTOS environments.
- Strong knowledge of ROS, real‑time control, and FPGA development.
- Experience with medical device certification processes and safety‑critical software development.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced startup.
