Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer - Matrix Design Group, LLC

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and develop robust firmware for safety-critical embedded systems using C and C++.
• Integrate Atmel microcontroller families with RTOS and Linux kernels, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to translate design specifications into functional firmware modules.
• Write comprehensive documentation, including source code comments, design notes, and test plans.
• Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and system validation to meet stringent safety and quality standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of embedded firmware development experience in industrial or safety-critical domains.
• Proficient in C/C++ with deep understanding of low-level hardware interfaces.
• Hands‑on experience with Atmel microcontrollers, RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, VxWorks), and Linux kernel development.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to debug complex hardware/software interactions.
• Excellent written communication for clear documentation and cross‑team collaboration.
