About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain the Financial Transmission Rights (FTR) market framework to ensure fair and efficient pricing.
- Collaborate with modeling, planning, outage coordination, credit, settlements, and operations teams to integrate market rules and operational data.
- Analyze transmission congestion patterns and develop strategies to hedge volatility for load‑serving entities in the Day‑Ahead Energy market.
- Provide technical support and training to market participants and internal stakeholders on FTR products and market mechanics.
- Monitor market performance, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend rule changes to enhance reliability and value creation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Economics, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in power market operations, with a focus on FTR or related transmission rights.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in market modeling tools and data analysis.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Knowledge of regional transmission operator (RTO) regulations and market structures.
